The holiday season is here! But not the holidays, you may think.
In my world, the holiday season is also composed of the birthdays of people I care about. Let me say this is a birthday marathon that
begins in late September and ends right around Christmas.
Celebrations are frequent this time of year. Some days we have outings, one after the other. So, indulging in delicious food, drinks, and dessert is routine during this time.
This year I wanted to share my journey as I visit some of the most popular places in Central Florida.
So, if you are new to the area, let me share the experience of my first visit to Bosphorous.
Bosphorous is a Turkish restaurant in Lake Nona across Boxi Park.
But before I tell you about my visit let me give you some details about this restaurant.
Address: 6900 Tavistock lakes Boulevard Suite 100 Medical City Orlando 32827.
Hours: 11am to 10pm Monday-Sunday.
Parking: You can park across the street in the four-story garage. It's free, by the way.
Reservations: You can make reservations at this restaurant. They can accommodate big parties.
Note: The restaurant will not split the bill for big parties.
Prices: Now the prices are affordable.
They have a happy hour where you have cocktails for 50% off.
Popular Dish: Their popular dish is the Lamb shish kabobs. And as an appetizer, hummus and lavash bread. The lavash bread comes out fresh, fragrant, and delicious. More about that later.
So, when you arrive at Bosphorous, the first thing you notice is the outside seating. People are eating, cheering, chatting, and enjoying their time.
When you enter, the colorful chandelier above the entrance first catches your eye. This charming restaurant has a contemporary decor with traditional light fixtures all over.
We were greeted by the hostess, who took us to our table once inside. And as we were sitting, our waitress stopped by. She introduced herself and proceeded to hand us the menus.
Our server Romina was very attentive, patient, and polite. She gave us feedback; I liked her because she was genuine.
We ordered our food, and our drinks were on the table right after. The service is outstanding at Bospherous.
Now, let's fast-forward to the food. In a few words, it is delicious and flavorful and comes in generous portions.
Tasting the food is like taking a trip to a familiar place from childhood or a beautiful place you've never been before.
From the humus to the rice, everything tastes delicious.
Now about the drinks, I'm not so sure. I tried the blueberry Mojito, but it wasn't WOW. I don't know if it was because I ordered it during happy hours or what, but I wouldn't try this drink again.
That won't stop me from dining here again.
We laughed, we sang, and we cheered. Everyone at our party had a lovely time at Bosphorous.
We will definitely be back. But maybe I want to try the other locations. Dr. Phillips may be next.
P.S. If you're celebrating a birthday, I recommend bringing your own cake or ordering a dessert. The complimentary dessert the restaurant gives is very, very small. And the birthday boy or girl may be may feel a little cheated. Food for thought.
Until next time. Thank you for reading!
